About Me

Mary Ann Hughes is a Certified Divorce Coach and Certified Divorce Specialist, specializing in helping families through the overwhelm and complexities of divorce involving children with disabilities. She also is a CDC Special Needs Divorce Coach, a Mosten-Guthrie Disability-Informed Professional, a certified Mediator, and Co-Director of the Special Needs Chapter of the National Association of Divorce Professionals. Mary Ann successfully advocated for her sons on the autism spectrum and received an excellent result for her family in her complex divorce. Her experience led her to form Special Family Transitions, to help other special needs families through divorce, to save them time, money, and emotional energy. Combining her personal and professional experience and certifications, Mary Ann is committed to helping her coaching clients advocate for themselves and their children with special needs before, during, and after divorce. In addition to 1:1 coaching, Mary Ann also shares her knowledge via articles, podcasts, trainings, and social media, as well as an online course: Success in Divorce for Moms of Children with Special Needs. Mary Ann has been recognized by Voyage Houston as one of Houston's Most Inspiring Stories, featured in ShoutOut HTX, and selected to be in Who's Who in America
