1. General Disclaimer
DivorcePlus is a technology platform. It is not a law firm, a mental health provider, a coaching referral service, a matching or placement agency, or an employer, agent, or partner of any coach or professional listed on the Site.
All coaching and professional services are provided by independent third parties who contract directly with you. DivorcePlus does not supervise, direct, or control those services, does not set their prices or scope, and does not guarantee their quality, availability, or outcome.
Communications between you and DivorcePlus are governed by our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. Communications between you and a coach or professional listed on the Site are between you and that person.
DivorcePlus does operate the booking and video conferencing platform, and as a result we hold booking metadata such as who booked with whom, when, and whether the session took place. We do not record sessions and we do not hold coaches' independent case notes or records. Section 7 of our Privacy Policy explains what we do with booking information and the limited circumstances in which we would disclose it.
2. No Legal, Mental Health, or Financial Advice
Everything on this Site and in our App, including articles, blog posts, glossaries, checklists, state guides, forms, FAQs, and coach profiles, is provided for general educational and informational purposes only.
None of it is legal advice, mental health advice, medical advice, tax advice, or financial advice. None of it is a substitute for consultation with a licensed professional in your jurisdiction who knows the facts of your situation.
Coaching is not therapy, counseling, or legal representation. A divorce coach, parenting coach, or life coach helps with organization, communication, decision-making, and emotional steadiness. A coach does not diagnose or treat mental health conditions, does not give legal advice, and does not represent you.
Using this Site does not create an attorney-client relationship, a therapist-patient relationship, or any other professional relationship between you and DivorcePlus. Whether a professional relationship exists between you and a coach is governed by your agreement with that coach and by the law and professional rules applicable to them.
Law and court procedure differ by state and change without notice. We make no representation that information here is current, complete, or applicable to your circumstances. You are solely responsible for any decision you make or action you take based on information found here.
3. No Privilege and No Guarantee of Confidentiality
Read this section if you are involved in or anticipate a divorce, custody, support, or other family law proceeding.
Communications with a divorce coach, parenting coach, or life coach are generally not protected by the attorney-client privilege, the psychotherapist-patient privilege, or any other evidentiary privilege.
Your booking records, intake responses, messages, and the fact that you engaged a coach may be discoverable and may be admissible in your case. Bringing a third party into a communication with your attorney can waive a privilege that would otherwise protect it.
DivorcePlus will not voluntarily disclose the identity of your coach or the existence of your coaching relationship, subject to the exceptions in Section 10.3 of our Terms of Use, but that is an operational practice and not a legal privilege. It does not protect you against a subpoena or court order.
If confidentiality or privilege matters to you, consult your own attorney before engaging a coach and before writing anything sensitive into a form, message, or review.
4. Not for Emergencies
The Site, the App, and the booking platform are not emergency services and are not monitored in real time. Do not use them to report or seek help for a medical emergency, a mental health crisis, domestic violence, threats of harm to yourself or others, or child abuse or neglect.
- If you are in immediate danger, call 911.
- If you are in crisis or having thoughts of suicide, call or text 988(Suicide and Crisis Lifeline).
- If you are experiencing domestic violence, the National Domestic Violence Hotline is available at 1-800-799-7233.
5. Coach Directory, Profile Tiers, and Paid Placement
Listing a coach or professional in our directory is not a referral, recommendation, or endorsement, and is not a tool for verifying anyone's credentials, qualifications, or abilities. Directory information is provided as is.
Coaches may purchase paid profile tiers. Preferred placement in the directory, the "DivorcePlus Preferred" label, and directory ordering are purchased features. They are not a rating, ranking, review, award, or measure of quality, experience, competence, credentials, or results, and they do not indicate that DivorcePlus recommends that coach over any other. A coach on the Free tier is not inferior to a coach on a paid tier; that coach has simply not purchased the same features.
You are responsible for evaluating and verifying any coach before you engage them. Ask about training, certification, licensure, experience with your situation, fees, and cancellation terms. Using DivorcePlus to verify anyone's credentials is prohibited by our Terms of Use.
6. Verification Badge
A verification badge means only that DivorcePlus received and reviewed the identity and credential information a coach submitted at the time the badge was issued, under the procedures then in effect.
It is not a license check, a background check, a certification, an accreditation, a warranty of current good standing, or an assessment of skill, ethics, or fitness. We do not continuously monitor any coach's licensure, certification, insurance, or disciplinary status. A badge is not a substitute for your own diligence.
7. "Match Me" and Similar Features
The "Match Me" form and any similar product or feature is designed to help you identify coaches who may align with the preferences you enter. It is not a formal referral system, and appearing in your results is not an endorsement or recommendation.
We do not guarantee the quality of services provided by any coach identified through the form, and we do not guarantee any outcome. It remains your responsibility to evaluate and verify the qualifications, experience, and suitability of any coach you choose. DivorcePlus and its operators are not liable for any decision made or action taken based on the use of this form or on services provided by a coach you select.
8. Booking and Video Conferencing Platform
The booking and video conferencing platform is technology we provide. Making it available to a coach does not make DivorcePlus a provider, supervisor, guarantor, or reviewer of that coach's services.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Bookings can fail, calendars can fall out of sync, and video sessions can drop, fail to connect, or degrade in quality. We are not liable for a missed session, lost session time, scheduling conflict, or any resulting loss. See Sections 8, 20, and 21 of our Terms of Use.
Recording is prohibited without the consent of every participant. Several states require all-party consent by law. DivorcePlus does not record sessions, but we cannot technically prevent another participant from using screen capture software or a separate device. Treat any session as potentially observable and raise recording expectations with your coach at the outset.
Coaches on the Free tier do not have booking or video access. Any arrangement you make with a Free tier coach happens entirely outside our platform, and we have no involvement in or record of it.
9. Payments
Coaches collect session fees through their own Stripe accounts. The coach, not DivorcePlus, is the merchant of record for coaching services. The coach sets prices, taxes, refund policies, cancellation policies, and no-show policies, and is solely responsible for honoring them.
DivorcePlus does not set, collect, hold, guarantee, refund, or charge back any coaching session fee, and does not act as an escrow agent, payment processor, collection agent, or fiduciary for those funds. Disputes about coaching fees, refunds, or service quality are between you and the coach. We have no obligation to mediate or resolve them.
DivorcePlus does not receive or store full payment card numbers, card security codes, or bank account credentials. All card processing is handled by Stripe, Inc.
10. Third-Party Professionals
DivorcePlus permits attorneys, mediators, financial professionals, therapists, and other third-party professionals to create profiles and to be linked with customers and coaches. Their listing, linking, or participation is not a referral, recommendation, endorsement, or verification of credentials by DivorcePlus.
Involving a third party in a coaching engagement, session, or communication may waive or destroy a confidentiality or privilege that would otherwise apply. DivorcePlus does not evaluate whether that is advisable in your situation and does not manage privilege on your behalf. Before adding anyone to a session, thread, or shared record, decide with your own attorney whether doing so will cost you a protection you want to keep.
11. DIY Divorce Forms and Resources
State forms, instructions, and DIY resources on this Site are provided for educational and informational purposes only. We do not guarantee, warrant, or represent that any form, instruction, or document is current, complete, accurate, or appropriate for your circumstances. Court requirements and procedures vary by state and change without notice.
Blank forms with official instructions are usually available free from your state or local court's website, and the court's version is authoritative over anything you find here.
Using these resources does not create a contractual, attorney-client, or other relationship, and DivorcePlus is not responsible for any error, omission, rejected filing, missed deadline, or outcome resulting from their use. If you need legal advice or representation, consult a licensed attorney in your jurisdiction.
12. Third-Party Sites and Redirects
This Site links to websites we do not operate, including court sites, coach websites, partner sites, and resource pages. Links are provided for convenience only.
We do not recommend or endorse the content or operators of third-party sites and exercise no editorial control over them. We are not responsible for their accuracy, availability, security, or data practices. If you follow a link, you do so at your own risk and subject to that site's own terms and privacy policy.
If you find a broken or inappropriate link, tell us at support@divorceplus.com.
13. User Reviews, Comments, and Third-Party Postings
Where DivorcePlus makes reviews, comments, or other posting features available, they exist so that people can share general information and experiences about family and domestic topics.
Anything you post publicly is not private. It may be seen by anyone, including a spouse, an opposing party, an employer, or a court, and you may not be able to delete it after posting.
13.1 Rules for Posting
Posts must be informational in nature. Commercial use, solicitation, and direct or indirect marketing of products or services are prohibited. You may not:
- Post defamatory, libelous, vulgar, obscene, abusive, profane, threatening, hateful, or otherwise offensive or illegal material;
- Use the Site in any illegal manner or in violation of federal or state law;
- Post material protected by copyright without the owner's permission;
- Use words, logos, or marks that infringe another party's trademark, service mark, certification mark, or other intellectual property rights;
- Post confidential information or information that infringes the proprietary, privacy, or personal rights of others, including images you do not own or have permission to use;
- Post nonpublic personal information or personally identifiable information about yourself or anyone else;
- Transmit viruses or other code designed to interfere with, harm, or limit any software, hardware, or telecommunications equipment;
- Forge headers or otherwise manipulate identifiers to disguise, impersonate, or misrepresent your identity or affiliation; or
- Post specific prices or fees charged or paid, or information about pricing practices, discounts, or other terms of sale obtained from or offered to another business.
Item 9 exists to avoid facilitating price coordination among competing providers.
13.2 License and Responsibility
By posting, you grant DivorcePlus and users of the platform a non-exclusive, irrevocable license to display, copy, publish, distribute, transmit, and print that material without payment to you or further permission.
DivorcePlus accepts no responsibility for opinions and information posted by others. Third-party postings are informational only and are not legal or medical advice. Viewing a post creates no attorney-client or other professional relationship between you and the person who wrote it. We make no representation as to the accuracy, completeness, correctness, suitability, or validity of third-party content and will not be liable for errors, omissions, delays, losses, injuries, or damages arising from its display or use. All of it is provided as is.
13.3 Moderation
We reserve the right, but assume no obligation, to monitor postings and to approve, edit, or remove any posting at our sole discretion. Postings may be examined, recorded, copied, or removed for authorized purposes, and posting constitutes consent to that monitoring. We do not undertake editorial control, and the absence of moderation on any particular post is not an endorsement of it.
We may terminate access for any user who does not follow these rules, without prior notice, and may modify or discontinue posting features at any time without liability.
14. Editorial Content
Articles, blog posts, and guides on this Site are written by staff, contributors, and professionals in the field. Views expressed are those of the author and do not necessarily represent the views of DivorcePlus.
Content reflects the state of the law and practice at the time of writing and may be out of date. Publication dates appear on articles. An author's credentials indicate their background, not that DivorcePlus has verified every statement in the piece.
Content about supplements, treatments, or wellness regimens has not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
15. Affiliate Compensation
DivorcePlus may receive compensation for recommendations or referrals made on this Site, in the form of money, services, or complimentary products. That compensation may exist without any action by you.
If you click an affiliate link and then purchase the product or service, we may receive compensation. Compensation does not change our editorial judgment, and receiving it is not an endorsement or a warranty of the product or service. See Section 19 of our Terms of Use.
16. Testimonials and Results
Testimonials, reviews, and success stories on this Site reflect the individual experience of the person who gave them. They are not a guarantee, warranty, or prediction of the results you will get.
Divorce, custody, and family law outcomes depend on facts, jurisdiction, opposing parties, and decisions outside anyone's control. No coach and no resource on this Site can guarantee an outcome, and any claim to the contrary should be treated with skepticism.
