Richard Perque

Richard Perque has spent nearly two decades in family law, first as an attorney and later as a judge in New Orleans, Louisiana. The law runs in his family, and after earning his J.D. from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, he founded his own firm handling family law, civil rights, and personal injury matters.

Ask Richard what all those years in family court taught him, and the answer isn't about legal strategy. It's about people. He watched clients show up to hearings exhausted and overwhelmed, paying attorney rates for hand-holding their lawyer wasn't trained to give. He noticed the clients who came through divorce in the best shape weren't the ones with the biggest legal budgets. They were the ones with on-going knowledgeable support behind the scenes.

He realized that although courtrooms decide custody and property, they don't teach anyone how to co-parent with an ex, manage the fear of starting over, or walk into a lawyer's office prepared. Richard believed that should information and support  be available to everyone.

Beyond his practice, Richard has served as a commissioner on both the Louisiana Commission on Human Rights and the Human Relations Commission for New Orleans, work rooted in the same conviction that drives DivorcePlus: everyone deserves fair access to the help they need.

Reagan Charleston

Reagan Charleston knows divorce from both sides of the desk. She's an attorney, an entrepreneur, and a television personality, best known to many from Bravo's Southern Charm New Orleans. She's also someone who has sat in the client's chair during her own difficult divorce, with all the sleepless nights that come with it.

Born in Covington, Louisiana, and raised in the culture of greater New Orleans, Reagan earned her degree from Louisiana State University before graduating magna cum laude from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, where she was a published member of the Law Review. She built a career that spans law, business, and design, including her own jewelry line.

None of that made her divorce easier. Even with a legal education and a lawyer of her own, Reagan found herself searching for answers at midnight, unsure who to trust and surprised by how isolating the process felt. If it was that hard for an attorney, she thought, what is it like for everyone else?

That question became DivorcePlus. In 2022, Reagan compared notes with Richard about her experience as a client and his years in family law, and the two kept arriving at the same conclusion: the missing piece in divorce isn't more legal services. It's support. Someone to help you get organized, think clearly, and feel less alone, whenever the hard moments hit.

Reagan's job is making sure DivorcePlus never loses sight of the person on the other side of the screen, because she's been that person.
