About Me

Stephanie was born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana, and took a non-traditional approach to higher education. After her own divorce in 2006, she relocated her and her two children to Ruston Louisiana where she earned her bachelors degree in 2008 and went on to earn her Master of Arts Counseling and Guidance in 2010 from Louisiana Tech University. While earning her Masters in Counseling, she also earned a Masters Certificate in Dynamics of Domestic and Family Violence. Stephanie is licensed to practice in both Louisiana and Texas. Her practice experience includes various settings from inpatient hospital setting, residential treatment facility, school, home and community based and private practice. She has experience working with children, adolescents, young adults and couples who are going through various life transitions. Stephanie’s counseling style is solution focused while also combining techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as Family systems therapy. She has advanced training in Step-family dynamics through the Stepfamily Foundation. In addition she has advanced training through Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC) to provide Custody Evaluations, Parent Coordination as well as Family Mediation. Stephanie provides an environment that is warm, caring, respectful, safe and supportive that will facilitate overall growth and change. Stephanie not only has the qualifications on paper, she also has lived experience as a single mom and stepmom as well as someone who has experience divorce from both the child and parent’s perspective. Stephanie is passionate about taking a life changing experience and assisting the parties in moving forward that is the least traumatic for all.
