About Me

Before starting Divorce by Allison I practiced as an attorney for over a decade. I represented clients in divorces, custody cases and other family law matters. Over and over again, I saw families sucked deeper into conflict as the divorce went on. Well-meaning, overwhelmed parents begin acting out of fear, anger and a lack of understanding of the court process, leading to increased conflict. When stuck in that cycle and that frame of mind, it is difficult to think clearly, and act in line with your values and long-term goals for your family. I started Divorce by Allison because I saw the detrimental effects of the gap between the services provided by the legal system, and what is actually needed to help families going through turmoil. Now I offer legal consulting, divorce and co-parenting coaching and mediation to help families wherever they are in the divorce process. I am here to help parents learn to divorce and co-parent differently, with better communication and less conflict.
