About Me
Elizabeth Yang knows divorce from both sides of the table. Before building her family law practice, she went through a four-year, high-conflict divorce of her own. That experience shaped how she works with people today: steady, practical, and focused on helping them move forward, not just get through it.
Elizabeth is the Founder and CEO of Yang Law Offices, a California family law firm, and a Certified Mediator through the Los Angeles County Bar Association. For over two decades, she has helped families through divorce, custody disputes, co-parenting conflict, and mediation. As a coach, she helps clients get organized, prepare for difficult conversations, lower the temperature with an ex, and keep their children at the center of every decision. Coaching sessions are not legal advice.
Her path is anything but typical. She earned her Electrical Engineering and Computer Science degree from UC Berkeley at 19, worked as an engineer at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory and Raytheon, then earned her JD/MBA while working full time. Raised by a single mother after losing her father, she approaches every setback through her "Five Lessons" philosophy: each challenge is a blessing in disguise that builds the strength to lead.
She is the author of six books, including Stress-Free Divorce, and has been recognized as a Super Lawyer (2022-2023), Rising Star (2017-2021), and a Top 100 Civil Lawyer and Top 40 Under 40 by the National Trial Lawyers (2016-2024). She serves as a Councilmember for the City of Monterey Park, where she previously served as Mayor, and lives there with her husband and two children.
